Support Keshet

As 2009 comes to a close, we have many exciting things to report!  Here are just a few of the exciting highlights:

• Keshet was one of 19 organizations from around the world to be honored with the Coming Up Taller Award from the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities. The highest honor in arts education in the United States, this award was presented by First Lady, Michelle Obama at the White House. What an incredible thrill to be acknowledged for the quality and impact of our work in New Mexico!

• Keshet’s 2008/2009 fiscal year ended on August 31 with nearly 8,000 individuals reached via Keshet’s programs and productions, over 30,000 hours of volunteer time donated by over 400 community volunteers, a 0% recidivism rate from juveniles participating in our post-incarceration mentorship program, over $45,000 in community scholarships awarded to students, and a 12% budget increase as compared to the previous fiscal year.

• Keshet’s Repertory Company began developing a new work based on the poetry of Pablo Neruda and has been invited to present segments from this work at the Alvin Ailey theatre in New York City and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland in 2010!

We are in the midst of a thrilling and unique time in Keshet’s history! We are ready to take a quantum leap to the next level, but we need your help. With our programs gaining national and international attention along with our exciting growth locally, this is the time to invest in Keshet Dance Company.
