Pilates Classes on Saturdays beginning March 3
We are excited to announce the addition of Pilates to our class schedule this spring! Susannah Abbey will be teaching Pilates on Saturday mornings from 11:30-12:30 beginning March 3 for only $5.
This class will introduce the student to Pilates, an approach to conditioning that integrates
breathing techniques, proper body alignment, and precise, fluid movement. We will
begin by focusing on the fundamentals, then move to a mixed-level format as the session
progresses. Because Pilates emphasizes correct form, students of all abilities will find this
a safe but challenging way to improve strength and balance.
Susannah Abbey has studied yoga, ballet, modern and West African dance, and competed in several triathlons. She began practicing Pilates four years ago, and found it dramatically improved her strength and capacity for dance and athletics. She is in the process of receiving Pilates Method Alliance teacher certification.
